About Counseling

As you have likely gathered from the home page, counseling is all about being heard, accepted, and acknowledged.

But you still may have some more questions about how I work and how this whole thing works.

With that being said, let's dive in.

Whether you desire to work through Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Scrupulosity, stress, grief, sexual addiction, faith, chronic pain, relationships, boundary setting, burnout, or you are confused as to what is happening altogether, I would honored to work with you.

My Approach

The human soul is beautifully complex.

Our emotions, thoughts, biology, will, friends, spirit, and many other factors are at play when it comes to where we find ourselves in life.

There's a reason you may be confused why you feel the way you feel. It's because life is complex! And you know it!

I consider it an honor to be able to sit with you, non-judgmentally, and wade through the confusion.

How I Help

I draw from various therapeutic disciplines. I mainly practice Person-Centered Therapy & Internal Family Systems (IFS). I also draw from Attachment-Based theory, Narrative therapy and mindfulness/spiritual strategies.
See below for specifics on my training*

I am also able to provide counseling for couples and practice using the Gottman method.

My Hope

My hope is that you feel accepted because often times it's frustrating and embarrassing talking about the difficult things in our lives.

My hope is that you feel heard because often the help we get from our friends and feels like just want to "fix" us when that's often not what our soul's need.

My hope is that you feel seen because often just being in a room with a person doesn't mean that you are, in fact, seen.

Spiritually Informed Care

Your spiritual life is important and I want to honor that. If you desire to incorporate this into your healing journey, it would be my pleasure to do so.

Oftentimes, spirituality is forgotten when it comes to healing journeys. Our spirituality gives us vitality and is often "glue" that holds us together.

However, if spirituality is something that has been abusive for you, it is my promise to you that this will not be a repeated process.

If however, spiritual abuse is a piece of your journey, it would be an honor to work through this with you.

Policies

Confidentiality: Everything that is said in the session is completely confidential. This is imperative for our time together.

Care Coverage: I am licensed in the state of Washington and am able to work with you if you reside in Washington State.

Medication: I do not prescribe medication but can work with you to explore whether medication is a good fit for you, or if you are taking medication, work with you to find the best fits in conjunction with your Doctor.

Insurance: Choosing not to accept insurance stems from my conviction of giving you the best care possible. Often, insurance requires counselors to provide required diagnoses, or mandated treatments. My approach is that this approach facilitates a more customized and cooperative therapeutic journey, allowing us to focus solely on your unique concerns and goals without external constraints.

First Session: After your free consultation, our first session together will be 1.5 hours. This is so we ensure that we have enough time to get to know who you are and what you desire to accomplish in counseling. This first session is $210.

Crisis: Should you find yourself in a crisis call 911 or 988 (Suicide Hotline).
